What is Fertomid-50?
Fertomid works by stimulating an increase in the amount of hormones in the female body which control ovulation. The active ingredient clomiphene citrate belongs to a class of medications called ovulatory stimulants. It is used to treat infertility in women caused by failure of ovulation.
How is Fertomid-50 used?
Fertomid should only be used as directed by a doctor, usually once daily in a 5 day cycle, starting on around day 5 of the menstrual cycle. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a full glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and treatment cycle as it will depend on the patient�s condition and their reaction to the treatment. Do not take more or less than the prescribed amount or change the frequency of taking the tablets.
Adverse effects
Fertomid may cause unwanted side effects such as:
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Headaches
- Bloating
- Upset stomach
Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or encounter more severe side effects such as:
- Irregular heartbeat
- Sudden or rapid weight changes
- Insomnia
- Vision problems
- Breast tenderness or discomfort
- Flushing
- Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)
Warnings
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Fertomid-50 is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
